1. Under the previous Boxing Australia system, I was a level 1/or level 2 accredited coach. What am I accredited now as? If you were Level 1, you will automatically be transferred under the new framework to a Bronze Coach. If you were Level 2, you will automatically be transferred under the new framework to a Silver Coach.
2. Can I skip a coaching class? No, you will need to complete each level of coaching class before moving through each class. You must complete 1 year of coaching to be eligible to nominate for the next class unless you have produced an Open Australian Champion. Further details on each is available under the National Coach Framework on our website.
3. How do I become a Gold Coach? You will need to ensure you have completed your Silver Coach before progressing. The Gold Coach course will be held at least once a year and will have limited spots available to begin with. A priority list of coaches will be identified as 'National' and 'International' Level Coach to undertake this course within the first year.
4. I am a IBA Star Coach but am a Level 1 with Boxing Australia. What does this mean for me? As an IBA Star Coach, we will recognise your previous accreditation under them, and you will be able to complete the online Silver Coach accreditation. You must be a registered member with your Member Association prior to the online course. You will have until 30 June 2024 to complete this process.
5. Is my accreditation my registration with my Member Association? No, your accreditation is different to your registration.
- Your accreditation is your licence
- Your registration is your membership
Therefore, you must be a registered member with your Member Association to be able to corner at sanctioned Member Association and Boxing Australia events.
