2021 AUSTRALIAN ‘UNDERAGE’ CHAMPIONSHIPS DEFERRED TO DECEMBER

Following an expression of serious concern by Boxing Victoria at the likelihood of being able to plan for and conduct the Championships in October in Victoria, as well as advice from some Member Associations at the difficulty of conducting their team selection bouts, the Board of Boxing Australia has deferred the holding of these Championships.

The Board has taken this decision in the hope that the present unpredictable situation of changing restrictions in different States on public gatherings and on the operation of gyms, the conducting of tournaments and prohibitions on interstate travel because of the Covid-19 Pandemic, will improve as the year progresses and that by deferring these Championships until 1-4 December they can be conducted at that time and that boxers and their coaches and families, as well as Member Associations, can confidently book their travel and accommodation.
