2022 Elite Australian Boxing Championships Wrap
Published Sun 20 Nov 2022
It was back on the road for our best Youth and Elite champions, with seven states contesting for gold. 97 athletes, 42 coaches, 7 team managers and 11 referees and judges headed down to the Dom Polski Centre, Adelaide for the Elite Australian National Championships 16-19 November 2022.
Many athletes backed up performances over the four days, making thrilling bouts. The crowd was electric! There was no shortage of excitement and inspiring moments to take from the event - bring on the 2023 Australian Elite Australian Boxing Championships.
Fellow Youth and Elite boxers continued to make a name for themselves throughout the championships, trying to catch the eye of selection committee members, Santiago Nieva, Phillip Goodes and Geoff Peterson, for the 2023 IBA Elite World Championships.
Boxing Australia would like to thank Boxing South Australia, the entire referee and judges crew, and all the volunteers who made the tournament run smoothly.
Also a special thank you to Dave Cutting, Andrew Lazich, Allison Goodes and Paulo Cruise for helping the BAL team pull this event together so successfully.
Congratulations to all the athletes and Member Associations who won medals and trophies.
