Boxing Australia Ltd (BAL) are seeking applications for the newly created full-time position of National Futures Coach.
The position will be based at the BAL Centre of Excellence in Canberra.

The BAL National Futures Coach (Responsible to Head Coach) will be responsible for:

• Accelerating the development of BAL categorised Developing and Emerging athletes and their coaches, though engagement with regional and home coaches on DTE and camps at CoE.
• Managing, coordinating, supporting and monitoring the activities of Regional Coaches to ensure delivery of a national coaching style and in order to identify athletes of potential for integration with national program activity.
• Supporting the Head Coach and back filling for him when he is absent from CoE.
• Leading the co-ordination and supporting the delivery of National Junior and Youth team camps and tours.
• Undertaking coach education programs as required.

The National Futures Coach primary responsibility is to coordinate and oversee the development of talented junior and youth athletes and the progress of those with potential to pass through to elite national squads with already well-developed technical skills and an understanding of the requirements of an elite athlete. This will involve assessing needs of individual athletes and developing, with Regional and home coaches, IPPs for each nominated athlete. The aim is better prepared young athletes joining the national elite programs. The position will also take responsibility for coach education under direction from the head Coach. The position will manage, monitor, and provide quality control for Regional coaches and visit regional and individual camps and clubs. Back fill for Head Coach at CoE. The position is not necessarily a pathway position to becoming National Head Coach but requires a person with substantial coaching experience and skill as well as sound managerial expertise.
