Boxing Tasmania Incorporated

The Board of Boxing Australia has recently learned that Boxing Tasmania Incorporated was deregistered as an incorporated association by the Tasmanian Department of Justice, Consumer Affairs and Fair Trading Registration Services on 21 December 2018 for failing to lodge its Annual Returns for 2017 and 2018.

As a consequence of the deregistration, Boxing Tasmania Incorporated is automatically no longer a Member Association of Boxing Australia.

In these circumstances, the Board of Boxing Australia has resolved to establish a new incorporated association in Tasmania as soon as possible to promote, develop and conduct amateur Boxing in Tasmania.

It is anticipated that following the incorporation of the new organisation, the Board of Boxing Australia will move a motion at the 2019 Annual General Meeting of Boxing Australia that the new association immediately become a Member Association of Boxing Australia.

In light of the foregoing, all those persons were formerly members of, or registered with, Boxing Tasmania Incorporated should be aware that Boxing Australia’s insurance no longer covers them.

All the persons who were formerly registered with Boxing Tasmania Incorporated must seek registration with Boxing Australia before participating in any Boxing Australia, or Boxing Australia Member Association, sanctioned event. Please find attached relevant forms.
