CONGRATULATIONS TO A VERY SPECIAL TEAM

The Board of Boxing Australia congratulates the Australian Boxing Team, boxers and coaches, for all the Team’s performances at the Tokyo Olympic Games.

Every boxer, through their efforts in every one of their bouts, made Australians proud whether they won or lost.

And, we thank the Team’s coaches, Head Coach Kevin Smith and Assistant Coach Mark Wilson.

Skye, Caitlin, Alex, Harry and Paulo couldn’t have been so competitive without the benefit of Kevin’s and Mark’s boxing experience and knowledge.

The last year and more has been a difficult time for all of us because of the Pandemic and for our boxers it has been even more frustrating because of the competition and training difficulties – for them to have been so competitive is a tribute to them and Kevin and all the other coaches who have prepared them.

Thank you Skye, Caitlin, Alex, Paulo and Bronze Medallist Harry for your dedication and commitment and, thank you Kevin and Mark for your support – all of you have shown the next generation of boxers what is possible.

The Australia Tokyo Olympic Games Boxing Team has certainly set a high standard for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games Boxing Team to aspire to better.
