Boxing Australia Limited and its Member Associations have no association or other linkage with Masters Boxing Australia Incorporated and do not sanction its bouts.
Boxing Australia’s ‘Regulations Regarding Prohibited Conduct’ prohibit boxers registered with it or its Member Associations competing interchangeably in another boxing organisation’s competitions – this prohibition is implemented to maintain the safety of Boxing Australia sanctioned competitions and the boxers competing in them through ensuring in all bouts that competitors are correctly matched according to age, weight, experience and ability, and that good officiating supervision of the bouts and medical examination and record keeping standards are applied.
Accordingly, competitors in all Boxing Australia competitions must be registered as a boxer with the Boxing Australia Member Association responsible for the jurisdiction in which they live (or, in exceptional circumstances, with Boxing Australia directly).
If a boxer competes in a bout that is not sanctioned by Boxing Australia or a Boxing Australia Member Association then their Member Association shall, subject to Boxing Australia’s ‘Regulations Regarding Prohibited Conduct’, cancel that person’s registration with it as a boxer.
However, if a person’s registration as a boxer is cancelled they may apply to re-register as a boxer with the Boxing Australia Member Association in whose jurisdiction they live but can only be re-registered following the required process including medical examination and clearance and stand-down period from competition (30 days if they have not been injured in any non-sanctioned bout).
Subject to the ‘Regulations Regarding Prohibited Conduct’ the participation of any boxing official, in a non-sanction bout is, also, to lead to the cancellation of that boxing official’s registration with a Boxing Australia Member Association.
Boxing Australia’s ‘Regulations Regarding Prohibited Conduct’ exist to maintain the safe conduct of our competitions and the safety of the boxers competing in them.
