Shaving Regulations

The Boxing Australia Board, as a recommendation from the Rules Committee, have responded to requests considering the issue of the requirement for athletes to be cleanshaven. After discussions, and given the recent experience in Tokyo, the Committee sees no reason to mandate the ‘cleanshaven’ requirement, moving forward.
Therefore the following regulations have been removed from the Technical and Competition regulations.
Appendix 1.12.9.3 - Boxers to be clean shaven without moustaches at weigh-in.
Appendix 5.109.1.3- Ensure each boxer is clean-shaven.
